Mission Statement
PASA has the responsibility to manage the South African payment clearing system
in order to:
- provide the South African banking community with safe and efficient facilities to
exchange payments;
- protect the integrity of the payment system;
- manage the clearing and settlement risks in the payment system;
- facilitate access of participants and prospective participants to the payment system
on a fair and equitable basis;
- facilitate communication between participants; and enable proper understanding of
the system and the rules applicable to it.
